Mandate

This Institution will have following mandate : -
1)     Development of safe, effective, affordable Ayurvedic drugs based on strengths of Ayurveda and National and global needs on scientific lines at par globally accepted norms.
2)     Development of standards for identification, collection and storage practices of raw materials.
3)     Development of quality control parameters and standardization of raw materials, extractives etc.
4)     Development of suitable pharmaceutical dosage forms and drug delivery systems.
5)     Development of standard operating procedures for various classical and investigational new drugs (IND).
6)     Development of quality, stability parameters for various classical and investigational new drugs (IND) to facilitate their registration as traditional medicine under THMPD of European Union.
7)     Preclinical safety evaluation of various classical and investigational new drugs (IND) and screening for targeted biological activities.
8)     Development of comprehensive integrative protocols and conduct of clinical research at par with global requirements on identified areas viz.  Metabolic Syndrome, Diabetes, Obesity, Hypertension, Lifestyle Disorders and other related areas.
9)     To act as resource centre for providing consultancy on issues related to drug development.
10)  IPR and related issues of patenting and commercialization of technologies and drugs

*  Multicentric Open Clinical Trial of selected drugs   (Dhatrilauha) in Iron Deficiency Anaemia

* Open Observational Study on Clinical Safety of Ayurvedic /Siddha Herbo Mineral and Metallic Preparations.
* Pharmacovigilance study on Ayurveda and Siddha practices
